After long deliberation, we’ve decided to quit X. It took a while for us to get to this point (many other media organizations already made this decision in the past few years), mainly because it means giving up over 38.000 followers, an audience that we’ve worked hard to build.
As a cartoon platform, we have a love-hate relationship with social media in general: love, because we get to showcase our cartoons to a larger audience and build a following; hate, because we are giving away our cartoons for free in the knowledge that big tech billionaires are the ones profiting from our content.
If it was possible, we would quit all social networks, but the truth is we need the visibility. But for obvious reasons, we have been uncomfortable to be present on X for some time now.
